Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in the Fund Industry
Increasing diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the asset management industry continues to be a key goal for ICI.
ICI’s D&I initiatives include the Talent Connection—a series of webinars and other events that introduce students from underrepresented communities to the asset management industry and the substantial career opportunities available to them.
Law School Students
Talent Connection events have been offered to law school students throughout the United States. At these events, ICI and industry representatives share information about the asset management industry and how it serves investors, the range of legal and compliance career opportunities in the industry, and insights into a day in the life of an asset management lawyer.
Undergraduates
Webinars also have been designed for undergraduate students attending a range of colleges and universities, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic-Serving Institutions. At these events, asset management professionals representing various career paths—including investments, operations, and sales/marketing—introduce the fund industry, recount their own career journeys, and provide advice for obtaining jobs and achieving success in asset management.
